| Oct 14, 2006 Make Yuma Youths Number One Focus I support the Yuma Youth Boxing Association 100 percent. It helped my two sons who recently passed away. It was a great part of their lives and kept them healthy, driven goal-orientated, drug-free and out of gangs and juvenile halls. We need more, not less, programs that are focused on our youths in Yuma, as well as in our country. Our dreams start as children. They should be our number one focus. Surely our children take priority over everything else. It's a sad day when we take away what keeps our children hopeful and healthy mentally and physically. For some of our children, this does not come easily and is getting worse. Who are we to make it even harder for our future leaders and law-abiding citizens to realize that we care and that our government and City of Yuma loves them as well. We must show through actions, not just with words when it suits us or there is an election coming up. We should be supportive every step of the way. I appreciate the youth boxing program and all they have done for our great community of Yuma. It certainly gave me special memories of training and being a positive part of my sons' training and the other children I helped train in Yuma. My hat is off to the Yuma Youth Boxing Association. It has my support and the support of Yuma. Let's prove through actions, Yuma, that we want great programs like this one for our kids. I say kick in the funds, City of Yuma. It's for our children.
