First Annual Rummage Sale

Greetings,
You, a member of the Business Community of Yuma have a Golden Glove opportunity to support the one and only Yuma County Youth Boxing Association (YCYBA) in their move to a new expanded club membership training and event center donated by a member of our business community.

The New facility will be dedicated to the memory of Adrienne Heredia and Her Little Angels who were murdered in Yuma on June 24, 2005. They were members of YCYBA for a number of years.

I would like members of our Business Community to learn about the meaningful support the Yuma County Youth Boxing Association is starting to receive from our growing and diverse number of new and existing businesses in Yuma County. Electricians, welders, along with others are working to make our ribbon-cutting celebration at the new facility a memorable one.

During the last 7-3/4 years, YCYBA's Olympic-Style Boxing program has served over 100 youngsters (ages 8+) annually. These children might have no other place to develop self-confidence, self-esteem, and personal insight. Our goal is to help them develop along a positive path to maturation in a healthy, highly disciplined and clean Olympic Sport.

I am thankful that more of Yuma welcomes an opportunity to support YCYBA. We (Board of Directors, coaches and helpers) are volunteers who help keep kids "off the streets". Instead, they're in the gym while being mentored by our motivated volunteer USA Boxing Certified Coaches who are drawn from support groups in Yuma.

Our new event center will accommodate 300 in-house spectators. This center will allow our community to enjoy the sport of amateur boxing. All will have an opportunity to experience the excitement of the youngsters as they demonstrate their developed skills which required discipline, dedication and physical abilities earned while training. Our "Ringside Challenges", featuring competitors from Arizona, California, Nevada and the Rocky Mountain Region will be held at the new event center located at 230 E. 10th Street in Yuma.
